3 Tips For Making A 2023 Vision Board
January is a great time to reflect on your feelings, challenges, dreams, and hopes for the future. For some people, the start of the year can be inspiring and motivational. For others, it can feel daunting and tiring. Creating a 2023 vision board can help you to figure out what you really want from your life, which can get you on the right track. Of course, you don’t have to completely stick to your vision board, since circumstances can change through the year. But you can use it as helpful and inspirational guide. If you’re struggling for ideas or you’re unsure on how to make a 2023 vision board, then this post should help!
1. Use Canva To Create Your Vision Board
You can create your vision board with paper or card, but I personally find it much easier to create it digitally. It takes up less time and resources. Canva is a great website that you can use to create your 2023 vision board. There’s no vision board template, so I used the “Mood Boards Photo Collage” template instead. There are plenty of free templates and free images to choose from, which is great. To give you an idea, here’s what my 2023 vision board looks like:

Starting with the first picture, we have a bowl of healthy, nutritious food. As I’ve struggled with many gut issues the past few years, my goal for this year is to eat a more balanced, nutritionally dense diet. The second picture shows a pregnant woman, which is something that I’ve been thinking about more and more recently. Hopefully, this will be the year that it happens, but plans can change, so I’ll keep that in mind. The third picture shows a woman outdoors jogging or running. I know how important exercise is, so I plan on doing more of that this year. Getting outside more is also a big goal of mine! The fourth picture is just the word ‘blog’ because I want to continue to grow this new blog of mine. It would be great to reach more people! The firth picture shows a nursery, which is tied to the pregnancy picture. Only time will tell if this vision board will become true. And lastly, we have a picture of a woman holding money. We can all dream, right? This year I would like to have a more stable income.
Vision boards are very personal, so yours will probably look very different to mine. And that’s what makes them so special! Just have fun with it and see what you can come up with.

2. Think About What’s Important To You
Once you’ve decided on a template, you need to decide what to actually include in your vision board. You can do this by writing a list (either digitally or with pen and paper) of what matters to you the most. It doesn’t have to be tailored to this year – it could depict your dreams and goals that you’re working towards. For instance, maybe you would like to save up to put a deposit on a house. Although you might not be able to buy the house this year, this could still be included in your vision board as a way to motivate you.
Some people find it helpful to think about the challenges they’ve faced the previous year and use this as a way to figure out what needs to change. If you’ve struggled with your job the past year, or you feel like you need a change in career, you could include this on your vison board. What’s your dream role? Maybe it’s a 9 – 5 office job. Or maybe it’s setting up your own business. Whatever it is, make sure to include it on your vision board. Even if it doesn’t happen this year, it can still serve as a reminder of what you’re working towards.

3. Put It In An Important Place
Now you’ve finished your 2023 vision board, you need to find a place to put it. If you have a printer, you can print off a copy and hang it on your living room or bedroom wall, since those are the places you’ll frequently be in. Looking at it every day is a great way to remind yourself of your goals. This can help to keep you motivated and inspired throughout the year.
If you don’t have a printer or you prefer to do things digitally, then I get it. I like to use my vision board as my desktop wallpaper. That way I’ll see it every day and be reminded of what I’m working towards. You can also save a copy to your phone, tablet, or any other advice that you use most days. The important thing is to look at it frequently during those times when you’re feeling less motivated or uninspired. Sometimes, being reminded of our goals is all it takes to lift us up when we’re feeling low.
Final Notes
Remember that nothing is set in stone. The things we once dreamt of can change. Don’t be afraid to make changes to your vision board throughout the year, if you feel like it’s necessary. Or you can use it as part of your 2024 reflections.
